Job Description

The School of Education at the University of North Texas at Dallas is seeking to hire a Student Assistant for the Texas Higher Education Coordination Board’s Teacher Quality grant (TQ). Position begins as soon as candidate is identified, and continues until December 15, 2017. Hours are flexible as needed by the grant tasks, but will average approximately 6 -8 hours a week.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Schedules events, meetings, and other activities for the TQ project.
  • Organizes and maintains documentation for grant reporting purposes.
  • Schedule, coordinate and confirm all travel arrangements for TQ activities.
  • Serves as Project purchaser.
  • Implements, maintains, organizes and coordinates the retention of records for the grant.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled University student in good standing and making satisfactory progress toward completion of a degree or certification program. Applicants must possess the following:

• Working knowledge of business English, and accuracy in spelling and arithmetic.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Some knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with the ePar and ePro system
• Grant related experience

Physical requirements necessary to perform essential job functions

Work is primarily sedentary. Sits comfortably to do the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or lifting items weighing up to 15 pounds.

Work Schedule

Flexible work schedule. Up to 8 hours per week.
