Job Title Student Assistant - Human Resources
Job Description

The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Student Assistant in Human Resources. The Human Resources student worker is responsible for efficiently and accurately handling a variety of HR transactions, and providing excellent customer service support to the HR team and other UNTD employees. They will perform a variety of employment related functions, enhancing employee engagement, productivity and ensuring employee compliance with University policies.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Meet and greet guests as they arrive for appointments
• Assist with facilitation of new employee onboarding (logistics, handouts, collect appropriate paperwork, other related activities)
• Assist with employment compliance and administrative matters
• Assist with posting of positions
• Compiles and maintains records and reports as needed
• Schedules exit interviews and training sessions
• Answer phones as needed
• Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
• Assist HR Director with various research projects and/or special projects

Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled University of North Texas at Dallas (UNTD) student making satisfactory progress toward completion of a degree program.

• Excellent customer service skills, as well as effective oral and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to create presentations, documents and spreadsheets.
• Some knowledge of office practices and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Good interpersonal skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds.
• Responsible, reliable and punctual.
• Ability to learn assigned tasks readily, to adhere to prescribed routines, and to develop some skill in the operation of common office equipment.
• Must have good organizational skills and responsibly complete assigned tasks.
• Must be detail-oriented have the ability to multi-task

Preferred Qualifications

• Completed a minimum of 30 credit hour toward a Bachelor’s Degree
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• No less than a 2.75 grade point average in the semester immediately preceding the application for the position and shall have no less than a 2.75 cumulative grade point average.

Physical requirements necessary to perform essential job functions

Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
Ability to sit in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
